About Yoga, SRI AUROBINDO wrote in the year 1914:

"The child of immemorial ages, preserved by its vitality and truth into our modern times, it is now emerging from the secret schools and ascetic retreats in which it had taken refuge and is seeking its place in the future sum of living human powers and utilities"

A hundred years later, on the 11th of December 2014, as a result of the initiative taken by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, the United Nations General Assembly declared June 21 as the International Day of Yoga.

International Day of Yoga is a significant event for all Indians. For the first time in history, the world has given formal and official recognition to an ancient holistic discipline born and brought up in India, a discipline which has in it the seeds for making the world a place full of love, peace and joy.
