Christmas celebrations 25th December 2023

Christmas Day was celebrated in the Ashram as the day of descent of light, the day on which the days start getting longer, bringing hope and cheer. Early in the evening, the youngsters organised several ‘novelty games’, which rewarded manual dexterity and alertness. Later in the evening, the Ashram choir led by Dr. Mithu Pal made a musical offering. Hymns and carols were interspersed with Tara Didi’s reading from the Mother’s Prayers and Meditations, and her answers to questions on the significance of Christmas, and passages from Savitri which make an apparent reference to the crucifixion of Christ.
