A group of 10 teachers from G.D. Goenka School, Ranchi, led by their principal, Mr Sunil Kumar, stayed in the Ashram for a few days. During their stay, they had an interactive session with Dr Ramesh Bijlani on orientation to Integral Education. They learnt during the session that physical education should go beyond games and physical fitness; that education of the vital is through art, music, dance and theatre, and therefore these subjects are strictly curricular, not extra-curricular as is commonly believed; that mental education should focus on higher faculties of learning; and that, most importantly, every opportunity should be furnished to inculcate education about the psychic, which he illustrated with a few children’s stories.
