Karuna Didi’s 94 Birth Anniversary

Devi Karunamayee popularly known as Anna Didi and Karuna Didi in the Ashram was Spiritual musician of Sri Aurobindo Ashram - Delhi Branch. Born on 24th March 1930 in Delhi, joined the Ashram on 20th March 1966 and lived till the 26th of January 2017 till her last breath.

She was a great musician and talented in Kirana Ghirana, a Hindustani classical music form. A great devotee of the Mother and Sri Aurobindo, she was the Founder-Director of Matri Kala Mandir, Mother's School of Fine

Arts, inaugurated on 21st February 1967, with the Mother's Grace. She was the Trustee of Sri Aurobindo Ashram-Delhi Branch.

March 20-25 2024

On 20 March 2024, a musical offering a vocal musical offering was made by Smt. Nalini Joshi accompanied by Shri Damodar Lal Ghose on Harmonium, Shri Uday Shankar Mishra on Tabla.

On 21 March 2024, a Jugalbandi offering was made by Dr. Ranjan Kumar on Violin, Shri Subrata Dey on Sitar accompanied by Shri Zaheen Khan on Tabla.

On 22 March 2024, a vocal music offering was made by Shri Kshitij Mathur accompanied by Shri Shambhunath Bhattacharjee on Tabla, Shri Chetan Nigam on Harmonium.

On 23 March 2024, a musical offering a vocal musical offering was made by Shri Vivek Bhola and Shri Kharak Singh on Tabla.

On 25 March 2024, a musical offering a vocal musical offering was made by Smt. Smita Mokahsi, accompanied by Shri Damodar Lal Ghose on Harmonium and Shri Tansen Srivastava on Tabla.
