Integral Education, National Education Policy
and Project-based Learning

The workshop on Integral education, National Education Policy and Project-based Learning started on 1st January and ended on 7th January, 2024. The workshop had 47 participants from 12 rural schools with the following distribution: Odisha - school 1, teacher 2, Leh - School 1, teacher 9: Uttarakhand – schools 5, teachers 19; Rajasthan – school 2, teachers 6; Gujrat – School 1, teacher 4; Tamil Nadu – School 1, teachers 3; Madhya Pradesh – School 1, teachers 4.

The workshop began by reflecting on one’s strengths and weaknesses followed by playing Ice-Breaking games to know each other better. The next few sessions were spent in understanding the philosophy of Integral Education and its need in our own lives and in education system of the country. National Education Policy was shared with the participants and its implementation was carried out with Project-Based Learning. The group worked on the India project and learnt how to integrate integral education and other subjects in a single topic. The other activities which were executed are shramadan, sports and games, mantra chanting, yogasana sessions, meditation and self-reflection.

The group visited Qutub Minar, Lotus temple, India Gate, War memorial, Red Fort and Akshardham Temple on the last day.

The resource persons were Dr Kamala Menon, Dr Jayanthy Ramachandran, Dr Aparna Roy, Baren Kumar Raul, Minati Pradhan, Rasmita Pradhan, Sukanti Roul and Priya Gupta.
