Dr. Ramesh Bijlani, known as Ramesh Bhaiya by all in the Delhi Branch, is a medical doctor, Educationist, Writer, inspirational speaker, Teacher, Scientist, and above all a person committed to using his unique blend of talents for touching the hearts and lives of his fellow beings. Educated at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), where he did his MBBS and MD, and at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where he did a Master's course in Nutrition, Dr Bijlani spent nearly 30 years as the faculty of AIIMS, teaching and conducting research on nutrition in relation to cardiovascular disease and diabetes. In 1992 he started going into the depths of yoga, specially the integral yoga of Sri Aurobindo and the Mother. His personal and professional life converged in the year 2000 when he initiated at AIIMS a patient care facility for providing lifestyle modification courses based on yoga in tune with the latest developments in mind-body medicine. In the year 2005, he took voluntary retirement from AIIMS to find more time for putting his blessings as a communicator to better use. Prof. Bijlani was conferred an honorary doctorate in yoga by Swami Vivekananda Yoga Anusandhana Samsthana, Bangalore in 2006. He has written extensively for children, adults and health care professionals; he has 30 published books to his credit, more than 200 scientific papers ,more than 50 popular articles and more than 250 blogs on Speaking Tree. He has been staying and working at Sri Aurobindo Ashram - Delhi Branch, since 2007. Dr. Bijlani describes himself as a pharmacist who dispenses small doses of love and wisdom from the inexhaustible pharmacy of Sri Aurobindo and the Mother.

The President, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, confers "Annual Lifetime Achievement Award" to Dr. Ramesh Bijlani on 21 Mar 2025, in recognition of his outstanding contributions towards medicine and humanity at the 49th Convocation Ceremony of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), held at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi.
