12th Enshrinement Day of the Sacred Relics of Sri Aurobindo at Madhuban
7 June 2026

Sacred Relics of Sri Aurobindo were enshrined at Madhuban, the Himalayan Centre of Sri Aurobindo Ashram-Delhi Branch in the Kumaon Himalayas at Talla Ramgarh in district Nainital, on June 7, 2014.

On 7th June 2026, Madhuban Ashram joyfully celebrated the 12th Enshrinement Day of the Sacred Relics of Sri Aurobindo. The day was marked by an atmosphere of devotion, gratitude, and collective aspiration, bringing together Ashram residents, guests, outreach participants, and members of the local community in a beautiful celebration of unity.

The programme commenced with an inspiring invocation by Tara Jauhar, Chairperson of Sri Aurobindo Ashram, Delhi Branch, who recited Sri Aurobindo’s Invitation, setting a deeply contemplative tone for the evening.

A special highlight of this year’s celebration was the culmination of a two-week Bharatanatyam workshop conducted by Madhuban Ashram for the village children. As a heartfelt offering on this sacred occasion, the young students presented three beautifully choreographed Bharatanatyam items, showcasing not only the skills they had acquired during the workshop but also their enthusiasm, discipline, and confidence. Their graceful performance was warmly appreciated by everyone present and reflected the Ashram’s commitment to nurturing both cultural heritage and holistic development within the local community.

The programme was further enriched by the wholehearted participation of people from diverse backgrounds. Guests staying at Madhuban, participants of the outreach programme, and village women all came together to offer their heartfelt performances. The traditional folk dance presented by the village women added a vibrant cultural dimension to the celebration and reflected the spirit of harmony between the Ashram and the surrounding community.

The gathering was also uplifted by soulful renditions of Sri Aurobindo Bhajans by the Hindi Zonal Committee from Madhya Pradesh, whose devotional singing filled the atmosphere with joy and reverence.

The evening concluded with the Light of Aspiration ceremony, followed by chanting from the Bhagavad Gita led by Dr. Katoch and her team, creating a serene and uplifting close to the celebrations.

The entire programme became a beautiful expression of collective offering—where music, dance, devotion, and silence merged into a shared experience of aspiration. The sacred relics continue to inspire all who visit Madhuban to deepen their inner journey and dedicate themselves to the ideals of Sri Aurobindo and The Mother.
